06/04/2009: "Petrol prices rise again"

Once again UK petrol prices are today set to rise, with prices for unleaded petrol hitting the £1 barrier (per litre) - diesel has for a while now been higher than £1.

Each rise in the cost of petrol, increases costs on all of us, prices for our weekly shopping increases at the supermarkets (or so they tell us) - increases the burdens on services we receive in our local area, everything goes up, not immeadiately but in stages, so we supposedly do not feel the pinch as much.

what can be done to save money?
the news tells us via industry interviews (ie, those with a vested interest) that we can walk some places, share trips with others, dont fill our cars up with stuff as much and stick to the speed limits on motorways.
so not a lot can be done then!

when asked about free flowing traffic in town centres and by schools so we dont sit in traffic jams and waste fuel, they didnt have an answer!

i'll be using my vote today, as i always do (even if its for the joke party) - registering a vote against those in power who brought in this tax rise on petrol - alone it wont make a blind bit of difference, but at least i have tried when the opportunity came.
