06/15/2009: "Online piracy - the public are being conned!"

every single internet user is being conned and misled, in the name of raising money for the government!

February 2008 is where we start our "trace" as the government and internet providers tell us: Net firms reject monitoring role

in April 2008 we were told: Policing internet 'not ISP's job'
where an internet provider (carphone warehouse) stated they would not police their customers.

in July 2008, this same company (carphone warehouse) and 5 other internet providers, signed up to a deal brokered by the UK labour government: Net firms in music pirates deal
didnt take long to change their tune, did they...

NEVER FEAR! In January 2009 - the labour party have "saved" all internet users in the UK by stating: UK will not legislate on piracy
fantastic news.... we are safe.... a government minister says so!

but wait... whats this? In May 2009Call to 'disconnect file-sharers' as the film industry tells the government... but we are reassured by the government minister.. relief all round then

on the same day (May 2009) the internet service providers fire back... Net firms reject 'policing role'

Early this month (June 2009) the government announces some news: Web pirates placed in 'slow lane'
do you think they have seen the "review" already???

and finally today... the wolf reveals its clothing! Anti-piracy music deal for Virgin
the day before the report is made public, a tax revenue way out for the government appears.. as if by magic....

we await tomorrow's report with interest...
